| Sanchez Art Werk now has a new venue and new home.
Since February 2010 Jonathan Sanchez has been residing in the Phoenix area. Taking a job at the new Musical Instrument Museum meant leaving Denver hot on the heels of his Abstract West show at Capelli Gallery. The works created for that show, and numerous works produced in Switzerland that have a similar feeling, now hang in the new “Pop-up" Gallery neighborhood on Marshall. Sharing a space with Neo-Abstract Expressionist Jean Rashkind, just behind the 5&6 and Soyal Galleries, the two artists represent completely different approaches to abstract painting. Rashkind’s works are full of texture and intense application, Sanchez’s works are comprised of clean geometric forms, floating organic shapes and vast amounts of warm space. The one common link between the two artists is a use of eye popping color.
You are all invited to the new space - especially on Thursday night during the Scottsdale artwalk. Come check out the new works or just drop by to say hi.
