The Islington Contemporary Art & Design Fair is an established showcase for Artists and Designers to promote and sell their work. The whole event takes place from 3-26 October 2008 at the Candid Galleries in Islington, with each of the four weeks covering specific creative disciplines. The fair provides a platform for over 200 individual artists across the entire art and design spectrum to show their latest work.
With its dynamic mix of both emerging young artists and those with established reputations, the ICADF is a unique event. Whether you are an experienced buyer or an aspiring collector, the ICADF provides the ideal opporunity to buy and enjoy exciting new art and design in one of the largest contemporary art spaces in London.

Die zweite Austellung im Kunsforum Safnern zeigt Bilder von Jonathan Sanchez und Skulpturen von Peter Bähler.Peter Bähler, der Galerist des Kunstforums Safnern, mischt Holz mit Sagex und Zement und giesst diese Masse dann in Formen. Seine Skulpturen passen perfekt in sein Kunstforum.
Jonathan Sanchez zeigt Werke, die während seiner Zeit in der Schweiz entstanden sind. Die Ausstellung zeigt verschiedene Stilrichtungen und Formate, die in den Räumen des Kunstforums thematisch angeordnet sind. Der Amerikaner hat in Florida und Colorado Kunst studiert und sich in Florenz in Kunstrestauration weitergebildet. Seit 2004 lebt und arbeitet der Künstler in der Schweiz –zwei Jahre in St. Gallen und jetzt in Biel. Ausstellen konnte Jonathan Sanchez während dieser Zeit in St. Gallen, Basel, Genf und Biel.
Das Kunstforum Safnern befindet sich in einem Gebäude im Industriequartier östlich des Dorfes. Es ist die neue Plattform für Kunstinteressierte und Künstler. Das Forum an der Industriestrasse 11 kann für Kunstevents und kulturelle Anlässe gemietet werden.

Art Colony Kicevo, Macedonia

We just returned from an amazing whirlwind trip through Macedonia. While there, I was invited to paint at the House of Art in Kicevo. The house of art is a large hotel near numerous ancient churches in the green mountains above the city of Kicevo. For two weeks out of the year, the city sponsors an art colony at the hotel in which artists from all over the world are invited to paint, eat, and drink without expenses and in a communal atmosphere. There are several day trips including a visit to fantastic Ohrid and the artists are treated like royalty.

After visiting on Monday, while the artists were touring Skopje, I was invited to return later in the week and produce a few paintings. I worked on two medium size works which were based on numerous sketches I had done while in Kicevo.

It was a great time hanging out, chatting, and of course painting the works. There were Macedonian, Serbian, Turkish, Cypriot, American, Korean, and Albanian artists there to name a few. There were some world class artists there and some fantastic work. Many thanks to the city of Kicevo, and the good people of the Art House.
